Summer Camps with Ashland Parks & Recreation


  • Youth Tennis Camp — 8:10-8:50am for Ages 12-15 and 9-9:40am for Ages 8-11 — Cost: $15 (5 lessons); $30 (10 lessons) — Mon-Fri
    Jun 16-20 (Session 1);
    Jun 23-Jul 3 (Session 2 — Note: No lesson on Jul 4, participants will receive two swim passes in lieu of lessons );
    Jul 14-Jul 25 (Session 3 );
    Aug 4-Aug 15 (Session 4)
      Ashland Parks & Recreation is teaming up with Ashland Tennis & Fitness to bring group youth tennis lessons back. Tennis lessons are held five days a week, and run for two-week sessions. Lessons will take place at the Hunter Park Tennis Courts in Ashland.


  • Moonlight Overnight — Ages: 8-11 — Cost: $50 — Tue & Wed, Jun 17 & 18, 9am on the 17th-noon on the 18th
      Explore the wet and wild places of North Mountain Park's natural area and search for critters in the creeks, ponds and nest boxes. Play cooperative games, create nature crafts and enjoy a puppet show and campfire songs. Then take a night hike before camping out under a full moon.


  • Exploring Nature Youth Day Camp — Ages: Entering 2-6 grade — Cost: $130 — Mon-Fri, Jun 23-27
      Catch insects, feed birds, pot up plants, wade in streams and track animals during a week of playing outside. Go on field trips to Mt. Ashland, Hyatt Lake and Grizzly Peak. Campers will also learn survival skills, create nature crafts and immerse themselves in the natural world. Bring a lunch. Snacks will be provided.   • Youth Nature Writer's Camp — Ages: Entering 4-8 grade — Cost: $50 — Mon-Fri, Jul 7-11, 9am-noon
      Oregon Writing Project presents BIRDS OF A FEATHERS. Take flight and write at "Youth Writer's Camp 2008" at North Mountain Park. Join us to take a bird's-eye view of life as we observe it. Young writers will flock to create a nature journal, fledge with word play, stretch their imaginations, preen their editing skills and wing it as poets, storytellers and scientists! Pack your own snack to eat with the birds. Instructors are Debi Blair and Max Schmelling.   • Swim Team Camp — Ages: 8-16 — Cost: $45 (Includes free admission to the All Comer's Swim Meet on Jul 12 or Aug 2)
    Mon-Fri, Jul 7-11, 4-6pm (Session 1);
    Mon-Fri, Jul 28-Aug 1, 9-11am (Session 2)
      Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a part of a competitive swim team? Well, now is your chance to get your feet wet and find out. This swim team camp is designed to introduce you to the sport of swimming, while improving your stroke technique and endurance. Have a blast in the pool while participating in group games and learning skills important for teamwork. Come experience what it is like to be a part of a team! This camp is designed for ages 8-16 that have completed the American Red Cross swim level 4 or equivalent. Participants must be able to swim the full length of the pool with ease. This camp will take place at the Daniel Meyer Pool in Hunter Park, Ashland.

  • Wet & Wild Water Polo Camp — Ages: Entering 10-14 — Cost: $40 (5 lessons) — Mon-Fri, Jul 28-Aug 1, 4-6pm
      Come and learn the basics of the great game of Water Polo. Cool off while having a hot time playing and practicing the skills needed to play a game of Water Polo. All levels encouraged to sign up. Instructors — Ashland High School Water Polo Team. This camp will take place at the Daniel Meyer Pool in Hunter Park, Ashland.
